2009 PhD with honors (“summa cum laude”)

“Narrating Indigenous Modernities:
Transcultural Dimensions in Contemporary Māori Literature.”
1999 MA (with distinction)

During my studies of Modern Languages at the Goethe-University in Frankfurt/Germany, I very early set focus on the New Literatures and Cultures in English. Minor studies comprised Lusophone Literatures as well as Ethnology, with a primary interest in African literatures and cultures.

 

Professional Experience

1999 - 2008

Public Relations & Marketing

As a communications and marketing specialist at a major German financial service provider, I was responsible for international event management, as well as chief editor for a German and English client magazine.

 

Personal Data

After working several years within a financial corporation, I returned to the world of literature and academia, and ever since am devoted to research and studies into various aspects of Anglophone and Lusophone literatures and cultures.

In 2007, I moved with my husband and our two children to the USA, where I am an Affiliated Researcher with the Women’s Studies Department of Florida International University in Miami.
